Hair today, gone tomorrow
I took Joe and Daddy to get their hair cuts this week. They were both starting to look a little scraggly, especially around the collar. Joe went first, and let's just say he wasn't as happy about being in the chair as he was the first time we went to the barbershop. Between Miss JoAnne, Larry and I, we managed to get a pretty good result.
Then it was Daddy's turn. No he didn't cry and fuss, so I didn't have to hold him down. Joe was pretty fascinated with what was being done to his Daddy. He kept climbing up in the other barber chair, trying to imitate the way his dad was sitting, etc. It was really cute.
Larry especially got a kick out of him attempting to read the magazine while we waited for him to be finished. He especially liked that Joe had chosen a Motorcycle publication to "read".

Poison Control 1-800--222-1222
We've had this number on our fridge since our birthing classes almost two years ago. Do you think we could find it tonight when we needed it - Nooooo.
I carry a small 1 oz. bottle of Purell hand sanitizer on my diaper bag and wouldn't you know it when we weren't paying attention Joe discovered it. In fact he not only discovered it but managed to get the cap off of it and, we assume, drink what was remaining in it.
Larry spoke to a very nice doctor who told us based on Joe's age and weight that he would probably be okay. We had to give him something sugary (we chose a chocolate milk bottle) as alcohol of any kind lowers the blood sugar. We were also advised to keep him awake and upright for an hour just in case he consumed enough to make him throw up. Luckily he drank his chocolaty bottle, got really wound up on the sugar and ran around like a crazy man. After an hour and a half we assumed it was safe to put him down. The poison control doc called back just after we'd put him down just to check back on him. We thought that was pretty cool.
I just checked on him and he's sleeping like a little lamb. I wonder how many of these scares will go through while he's growing up.

Hubby exceeds expectations
Have I said lately that I love my husband, and I mean LOVE him. He has been so sweet to me these last few weeks, even though I could be considered a Witch. I've been experiencing a higher level of pain than before and am having a difficult time accepting it, and the limitations it places on me.
Larry just comes along, hugs me and lets me know it's going to be alright in the end. We can handle it. Then he'll do something sweet like make me a cup of tea, rub my feet, and when necessary guilt me into going out into the world with him and Joey for dinner or something. His job as husband can't be easy, not when he's married to me, but he does it lovingly and is always striving to improve on himself, on our relationship, on how we manage our home and family. He's so amazing, thus the reason I love him so very much.
So I just want to publicly thank Larry for all he does for me, and our family, and let him know that it is very much appreciated.

Okay so I'm a little prejudiced - it's a mom's perogative
Admit it, you've never seen a cuter boy in your life. I swear my little man just gets cuter and cuter with each passing day. No matter where we go people stop to tickle him under his chin and/or comment on his big beautiful eyes. And boy does he know exactly what they're saying, acting all shy, giving them a little smile before hiding his face against my leg.
Anyway these photo's we're taken last week while we were at the park. He looks like such a little man already. It's still hard to believe that Larry and I created this sweet little creature.

Marley and Me
Wow what a movie. I think I can honestly say this is the first movie that I thought was equal to the book. Larry and I made a date to see it today, while Grammi and Pop Pop graciously agreed to babysit, so we could have some couple time. He thought it'd be a "chick" flick, but at the end agreed it was a great family film that had you going from laughing to crying in minutes.
Note to one and all - take kleenex you'll need them. Best film I'd seen in over a year. I'd highly recommend.

New Years Eve a BUST
Well Larry and I had big plans to attend a Mardi Gras party on New Years Eve, but fate intervened. Joe started getting sick on the 30th and by the 31st we both had it. Larry, being the good husband, didn't even put up a fuss when I said I wasn't up to going out, and plus I didn't feel right about even considering it when Joe was so out of sorts. New Years Eve is one of our "Anniversaries" since that is when we had our official "1st Date", so we always try to do something special. Even being sick we tried this year.
Larry borrowed some DVD's from his sister and even watched a chick flick with me - Mamma Mia. Then Joe and I were both pretty much down for the count by 7:30. Pathetic isn't it.
Me being the good wife, encouraged him to go share a beer with our brother-in-law who lives just down the road and so he went and hung out for about an hour or so. It didn't interfere with their plans either as Mary is exhausted as I, trying to get Elsa on sleeping pattern, and so she hit the hay early too.
Even though it was low key, it turned out fine. And the most important thing was that we spent it together.
