and the PARTY goes on, and on, and on!

We had the final celebration for Joe's second birthday this past Sunday with all our immediate family - all the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.  We kept it pretty simple with just cake and ice cream but Larry and I strung up streamers and balloons the night before and layered the floor with balloons so that when Joey got up in the morning he'd have a surprise.  He loved it.  As soon as he saw some of the balloons floating near the ceiling his excitement began building.  He took off tearing down the hallway and ran smack into all the balloons on the living room floor - kicking and laughing and falling down in them.  He must have played for a 1/2 or more in those balloons before he let me change his diaper and get him something to eat.

Around Noon Mona and her grandson who is 5 weeks older than Joe dropped in for a quick visit.  He has gotten to be such a cute little monkey and he and Gracie had a ball playing together.  Joe was down for a nap so he never even got to see them or vice versa.  It was a nice visit, although too short.

When Joey got up at 2:00 he had a bite to eat with Grace and then they got to play for a little bit one on one until our other guests started to arrive.  Once everyone had shown up we sang Happy Birthday and Joey blew out the candles and we all dug in to his Pooh cake and vanilla ice cream.

Joey got all kinds of wonderful gifts, that he has yet to put down - fireman outfit, garbage truck (working), and bulldozer that also works like it's the real thing and a smart cycle, plus clothes, books and cash.  He made out like a bandit and I hope he realizes what a very lucky little boy he is.

So all in all I'd say his birthday was a success.

The next morning he got up in his new jamma's that Grammi had bought him and started his day right off with playing with his new toys, and has been going at it ever since.  He's just crazy about vehicles of any kind, and garbage trucks and big rigs are his favorite right now, along with airplanes.
